Queue to change tires

A blizzard is expected to move in over the country this week. Already on Monday it will be colder, with minus temperatures at night in southern Sweden. On Wednesday there will be storms with snow and strong winds.

One of those rushing to the tire workshop to change to winter tires is the “Married at First Sight” profile Ninni Larsson, who is participating in the ongoing winter season of the SVT hit.

– I feel that I haven’t had very good foresight, but now it was time so that there will be nothing risky this week, she says.

The station manager: Always chaos when the snow comes

Car owner Johan Fyrberg says that he often waits until the last minute to change tires.

– It is clear that these autumns have been quite mild and you may not want to wear out your winter tires and so on, he says.

Stefan Hanell, station manager at the tire workshop, says that many car owners have been out in good time with the tire changes this year.

– This year, people have been good anyway. They have been out in good time, but it will always be chaos when the snow comes, he says.

For those switching to winter tires this year, there is something particularly important to keep an eye on – from December 1, all studless winter tires must be marked with an Alpine peak and a snowflake.

May be warnings from SMHI

Already on Monday, rain with elements of snow will enter the country. In terms of temperature, it will be double-digit minus degrees even during the day in the north. In the south around zero, or some minus degrees except around the coasts where there will be some plus degrees.

Warnings from SMHI can be expected. In the worst case, some areas can be hit by 50 centimeters of snow, in just a few days.
