Information regarding the return of Alexei Navalny’s body is rare. Journalists and supporters alikeAlexei Navalny are forced to scan the social networks of his relatives, who should soon announce the place and day of the opponent’s funeral. Provided of course that the authorities do not interfere in this process.
At the end of the week, Alexeï Navalny’s mother denounced the blackmail of the authorities. Lyudmila Navalnaya explained in a video that we refused to give him back the remains of his son if his funeral wasn’t secret. Has an agreement been reached? Nothing has been confirmed yet. However, some sources on the internet claim that Alexei Navalny could be buried in a cemetery in the suburbs of Moscow.
When and under what conditions?
Members of his team in exile abroad say they will release full details in due course. But the predominant thesis is that of a burial which resembles that ofYevgeny Prigozhinwhich only the family had attended, the authorities covering their tracks to disperse journalists and supporters of Wagner’s former boss between the different cemeteries of Saint Petersburg.
The only thing that remains certain is that a few weeks before the presidential election, the authorities do not want Alexei Navalny’s funeral to turn into a political platform for opposition forces.
