Quest steals 500 gold per click from players, makes many poor

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

A nasty bug in Wrath of the Lich King Classic causes massive gold loss. Because every click takes the money out of your pocket.

It’s old hat that MMORPGs like World of Warcraft occasionally have minor bugs. Big games are potentially buggy, and Wrath of the Lich King Classic is no exception. But the extent of this error may have caused some players to break out in a sweat for a short time.

Because if you have made the “mistake” of wanting to complete a harmless daily quest, you may suddenly have lost several thousand pieces of gold. A quest has literally pulled the gold out of your pockets.

How did the gold disappear? This was possible with the daily quest Slaves to Saronite. The quest actually requires your character to rescue 10 slaves in a cave. Each slave must be clicked individually to free him from his bonds.

However, the quest was bugged. Several players report that instead of the quest progress when rescuing the slaves, they suddenly heard the typical “tinkle of gold” that you can also hear when you buy an item from a dealer, for example.

Many probably didn’t think anything of the noise – or simply didn’t activate the sound – and just kept trying to complete the quest, but no quest progress was made. This later led to a bitter awakening, as reports from players who lost well over 10,000 gold trying to complete this quest are increasing in the official forum.

What do you have to do if you are affected by the error? Nothing. According to its own statement, Blizzard can see exactly which characters were affected by this bug and how much gold was lost in the action in the official WoW forum.

The developers plan to restore the gold over the next few weeks. There is no exact date for this yet. So if you’ve lost gold, just wait and see.

But it would be interesting to know how such an error can occur.
