When Quentin Tarantino goes on a press tour, the cult director’s controversial statements and views end up online almost every day. He’s just been back on a podcast to promote his new book, Cinema Speculation*. Here he spoke of one extinct star system in Hollywood and dealt against Marvel. MCU actor Simu Liu responded directly with a clear announcement.

Tarantino denies the value of MCU stars and is immediately countered
According to Variety, as a guest on the 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast, the director spoke about Marvel’s Hollywood’s star system is being abolished more and more would have:
Part of the Marvelization of Hollywood is … there are all these actors who have become famous playing these characters. But they are not movie stars. Yes? Captain America is the star. Or Thor is the star. I mean I’m not the first to say that. I think that’s been said a million times… but it’s like it’s these franchise characters that become stars.
Even though Tarantino says in the conversation that he doesn’t hate Marvel films, it bothers him that they are the only product Hollywood is interested in right now. In any case, his statement about the stars of the blockbuster has already caused a sensation.
