Denmark’s Queen Margrethe has recently had problems with her back and will undergo an operation later in February, the Danish royal house writes in a press release:
“After consultation with Rigshospitalet’s experts, the queen has decided to undergo major back surgery.”
The operation means that several of the 82-year-old queen’s planned commitments will be canceled or taken over by other members of the royal family, reports the Ritzau news agency.
The back operation is to be carried out on February 22.
