The anniversary of the death of British Queen Elizabeth is approaching and many want to pay tribute to the former monarch. Even the queen’s four-legged friends join in, and already Elizabeth has been praised by representatives of the dog breed she loved most – corgis.
On Sunday, around 20 Elizabeth enthusiasts and their corgis – some of the doggies dressed in crowns, tiaras and other royal regalia – gathered to parade outside Buckingham Palace.
The dog breed was the Queen’s constant companion, and Elizabeth owned around 30 corgis during her lifetime. Several of these dogs descended from ‘Susan’, a corgi given to the Queen on her 18th birthday.
Elizabeth died on September 8 last year. She had then reached the age of 96 and had been queen for 70 years. Queen Elizabeth is the longest-serving British monarch on the throne.
