MediaTek caught up with Qualcomm, and even surpassed it, according to some, both with its recent breakthroughs and with the Dimensity 9000 model being the representative of many “firsts” in this field.
Even the authority names of the technology world attributed the name change to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset series to the fact that the company has been in the shadow of MediaTek recently. The new Snapdragon chipset, which was developed under these conditions, but lost the pleasure of being the first in many subjects, was still officially introduced with its new name and many aspects that are not seen before, but attract attention as additional features.
Introduced as Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the new chipset has 1 x 3GHz Cortex-X2, 3 x 2.5GHz Cortex-A710 and 4 x 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 core structure. The use of 4nm architecture in the chipset makes this model 20% faster and 30% more efficient than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 888.
In addition, thanks to the new generation Adreno graphics unit in the chipset, which has not yet been given clear information about its model, there is an energy efficiency increase of 30% performance and 25%.
In addition to all this, the new generation Snapdragon chipset promises improvements or new features in many aspects from lighting to sound structure, from Bluetooth to security modules.
