An earthquake shook the northern Philippines on Wednesday, causing material damage. The earthquake had a magnitude of 6.4 according to the US Geological Survey.
No tsunami warning was issued, but the quake was felt in the capital, Manila, 33 miles away.
A quake in July in the same area was measured at a magnitude of 7.0. About ten people died in connection with that quake, but a bigger disaster could be avoided as more and more buildings have been designed to withstand earthquakes.
