Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Al-Thani on Saturday received a group from terror-labeled Hamas for continued discussions on a possible cease-fire in Gaza. The Hamas delegation was led by Khalil al-Hayya, according to Qatar’s foreign ministry.
The goal is to reach a “clear and comprehensive” settlement on a cease-fire in Gaza, according to a statement.
It is rather rare there that the prime minister, who is also Qatar’s foreign minister, participates in the direct talks. Earlier in December, he expressed some hopes for a solution to the conflict, which has not yet materialized as so many times before.
