Each expansion brings a lot of content for the PvE area of Destiny 2, but when it comes to the Crucible, many players are on the fence. We’ll show you why now is a great day for PvP fans.
What has happened in Destiny 2? Since May 7th, the PvP players among you have another reason to celebrate. Bungie has released its promised map pack with three new maps and players can now have fun in fresh locations. The maps include:
Bungie had already announced this card pack in advance so that the sweaty Guardians among you finally got content to look forward to. Unfortunately, players were used to receiving a maximum of one new map per DLC – if at all. Receiving three copies now that haven’t even been recycled is a reason to celebrate.
Three new maps without recycling
What kind of maps are these? These three maps are small to medium in size. If you look closely, you might think they are designed more for 3v3 matches, but all maps can also be used in a 6v6 match.
What is immediately noticeable is the abundance of angles behind which enemies could be lurking. The maps are not empty or wide in order to offer plenty of scope for evasive maneuvers. Rather, they force Guardians to engage in conflict and challenge. This will certainly be a feast for the shotgun players among you, but you should also be careful and not rush ahead too quickly.
The most interesting thing about this is the fact that Bungie is proving with these three new maps that they still have it. You can conjure new maps out of thin air without having to use old Destiny 1 or recycled content from Destiny 2. It’s difficult to say whether the maps will be enough to bring back a large part of the PvP community.
What do the players say about the maps? The opinions couldn’t be more different. While some fans celebrate the maps, many criticize the incorrect optimization. You get spawntrapped far too quickly in a 6 vs. 6 match, which leads to frustration. The following was said:
