Puy du Fou celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. For the occasion, the park reopened its doors on April 9 with a new monumental decor of the Gallo-Roman stadium where the gladiator show takes place.

What does the Gallo-Roman stadium look like?

In 2022, Puy du Fou celebrates its 45th anniversary. The opportunity for the park to unveil new features, starting with a total transformation of the Gallo-Roman Stadium in which a new version of his show The Sign of Triumph. From now on, a hundred decorative elements will allow an immense imperial galley to be set up in a few seconds at the end of the show. Spectators will then be able to watch a fight on the sea between the Romans and the Gauls who took refuge on rafts. On the show side, The Ghostbird Ball and The Vikings reinvent themselves with new soundtracks and new voices. The guests of the hotel la Cité Nocturne will now also be able to participate in discovery workshops at the Falconry Academy, the Equestrian Academy and the Costume Workshop or by becoming actors in the Puy du Fou troupe for a few hours. For the anniversary of the park, several events will take place:

  • The Night of the Feux Follets on Friday September 16, 2022: the three greatest specialists in pyrotechnics in the world were invited to imagine an impression of a fireworks show, full of poetry and originality.
  • La Foulée des Géants on October 8 and 9, 2022: a nocturnal run, lit by torches and torches, in a splendid setting full of surprises. Launch of the Grand Tour

On November 23, 2021, Puy du Fou announced the creation of the Grand Tour, the most audacious show ever imagined, which takes its travellers-spectators on a train for six days and five nights to discover the splendors of France. For this unique show, Puy du Fou has designed an authentic life-size Belle Époque train which includes 15 comfortable cabins (bathroom with shower and private toilets) from 10 to 30 m2 each, 2 gourmet dining cars and 1 bar car. The Puy du Fou inaugurated in Spain

On the weekend of March 27, the famous French amusement park opened its first park abroad in Spain. Located in the Toledo region, 45 minutes by car from Madrid, Puy du Fou Spain extends over 30 hectares and offers 4 equestrian shows, cape and dagger or with falconry birds which make the success of the French park. The Gallo-Roman Villa gets a makeover

The first hotel in the Cité Nocturne du Puy du Fou, the Villa Gallo-Romaine, was created in 2007. This hotel propels its visitors back to the time of Ancient Rome. It has 100 completely redecorated family rooms, with an interior courtyard of 3,300m² completely redesigned by the team of gardeners from Puy du Fou.

Immersive shows

Experience the shows up close thanks to the total immersion creations of the Puy du Fou park. Launched in 2018, the Mystery of La Pérouse takes you on a maritime expedition during which not everything will go as planned… Since 2019, spectators have been able to discover The First Kingdom, which traces the course of Clovis. With The Lovers of Verdunvisitors find themselves in the midst of the First World War, on Christmas Eve 1916. In The Renaissance of the Castle, the inhabitants of Puy du Fou reveal the secrets of the castle to you. The legend of King Arthur comes to life in The Knights of the Round Table, where grand illusion and the supernatural intertwine. Why not take a short tour of 20th century France with The Sappers Ballet, a show inspired by the world of musicals. If you are a music fan, The Great Carillon and its 18th century tunes should please you, or perhaps you will prefer Automata Musicians du Bourg 1900? The night shows

At nightfall, the park is adorned with a thousand lights. The show the Fire Organs tells a love story between a pianist and a violinist. On a background of classical music, water, fire, light and musical instruments make you live a magical moment for 33 minutes. The Cinéscénie takes you from the Middle Ages to the Second World War, in a blockbuster where technologies are at the service of history and spectacle. Presented on a giant stage, this incredible show has 2,550 actors and 190 riders.

Puy du Fou turns to the cinema

Epique Studio is born to create an audiovisual production center, and to make available to the world of cinema its sets of an old time. The costumes and the amazing cast could soon be filmed by filmmakers.

The Cafe de la Madelon

A few meters from Bourg 1900, Le Café de la Madelon offers visitors a time travel to the heart of the Belle-Epoque. Young and old are invited to the wedding meal at La Madelon and can discover a show full of twists and surprises, while enjoying a menu specially designed in the spirit of the 1900s.
