Putins new threat to Britains arms supplies

Russia attacks suspected arms shipments.

At the same time, Putin is threatening the West with more consequences.

– We have enough weapons to do that, he says.

In a televised interview with the Russian channel Rossiya-1, Putin warns that there will be fatal consequences if the West sends more long-range weapons.

– We will carry out the measures we find necessary and we have enough weapons to do so, says the Russian president in the interview.

The threat came shortly after Britain’s defense minister, Ben Wallace, announced that Britain would send a handful of M270 rocket systems to Ukraine, reports BBC.

“These highly capable missile systems will enable our Ukrainian friends to better protect themselves against the brutal use of long-range artillery, which Putin’s forces have indiscriminately used to destroy Ukrainian cities,” Ben Wallace said in a press release.

Trying to stop arms deliveries

Putin has previously threatened to attack new targets if the West supplies Ukraine with this type of missile system.

And yesterday the Russians attacked Kyiv.

One of the rockets was shot down by Ukraine’s air defense, but the others are said to have hit important infrastructure facilities in the northern part of the Ukrainian capital.

The attack on Kyiv is seen as an attempt by Russia to stop Ukraine from gaining access to the weapons and supplies sent by the West, according to Britain’s latest intelligence report.

Range of several miles

According to Moscow, Russia will push back Ukrainian forces even further if more long-range weapons reach Ukraine’s front line.

“The longer the scope of the systems, the longer we will push the Nazis back from the line from which threats against Russian speakers and the Russian Federation come,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a news conference, according to Reuters.

The new long-range weapons will be able to hit targets several miles away and the United States will also send more weapons.
