The decree signed by Putin, which contains the foundations of state policy for the preservation and strengthening of traditional spiritual and moral values, was published on the Russian State Legal Information Portal.
According to the decree, it was emphasized that the traditional values that make it possible to preserve and strengthen the sovereignty of Russia, ensure the unity of the multinational and diverse country, are the basis of Russian society.

It was stated in the decree that Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Buddhism are an integral part of Russian history and spiritual heritage, and that Russian traditional values are threatened by the activities of extremist and terrorist organizations, certain mass media, the United States and other unfriendly foreign states.
In the decree, which was noted that the media and public authorities would be used as tools to protect, strengthen and popularize traditional values, “non-traditional sexual relations” were classified within the destructive system of ideas and values for Russian society.
