Putin welcome to the G20 meeting in Brazil

Russian President Vladimir Putin will be invited to the meeting in Rio de Janeiro next year, said Brazil’s Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to the Indian media company First Post.

— We enjoy peace and we want to treat people well. So I think Putin can easily come to Brazil, says Brazil’s Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the interview.

— If I am president of Brazil and if he comes to Brazil, there is no chance that he would be arrested.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague has issued an international arrest warrant for, among others, Russian President Vladimir Putin for involvement in the kidnapping of Ukrainian children during the war.

Putin is not attending the ongoing G20 meeting in Delhi, but is represented by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
