Putin speaks out after the uprising

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the nation on Tuesday evening after the Wagner group’s aborted insurrectionary march towards Moscow.

He said that all measures were taken to neutralize the danger and that society is standing strong after the crisis. At the same time, he emphasized that “the great majority” of Wagner’s soldiers are patriots who have been brought behind the scenes.

According to Putin, the soldiers have been given two choices, either join the Russian army or go to Belarus. He promises those who want to go to Belarus that he will honor the promise.
