Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party has started building its own army, writes Sky News.
According to Ukraine, it consists, among other things, of football hooligans.
At the same time, the Ukrainian attacks on Russian border communities are intensifying.
United Russia’s own army is under development. This is stated by the military intelligence service of Ukraine, according to Sky News.
Among other things, the party is said to have recruited football hooligans who previously showed interest in the Russian Vostok Battalion, according to Ukrainian information.
Ukraine’s intelligence service describes the recruitment as a “one-way ticket”.
“The Russians do not bring home the dead and seriously wounded from the recruited cannon fodder from the battlefield. They are registered as ‘missing’ because they want to avoid paying out money to the relatives of the dead,” writes the intelligence service according to Sky News information.
Ukrainian attacks intensify
In recent days, several Ukrainian attacks have reportedly been directed at Russian border communities, something that previously only happened sporadically.
On Wednesday, the city of Belgorod, with its 340,000 inhabitants, was subjected to several attacks, according to the city’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov. He says Russian air defenses shot down twelve Ukrainian robots targeting the city on Wednesday morning.
On Telegram, Gladkov describes the situation as “still tense”.
In addition, hundreds of prisoners of war have been exchanged between the countries on Wednesday, both Ukraine and Russia confirm. Some of the Ukrainian prisoners have reportedly been detained since 2022.
