“NATO WAS STUNNED”
Russian defense expert Colonel Viktor Baranet, interviewed by Komsomolskaya Pravda, said that NATO’s intelligence agencies were stunned after Russia’s new missile test. Speaking to the Russian newspaper, the expert said: ‘It looked like a comet with a snake-like white tail. Its whirling twists and turns were watched with amazement by residents of different regions of Russia (Orenburg, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Dagestan and others), he said.
IT GONE VIRAL ON SOCIAL MEDIA
The rocket was launched from the Kapustin Yar test site last week and surprised observers with the strange smoke trail it left in the sky. Images of the traces left by the rocket in the sky were published on social media and went viral in a short time.
MINISTRY DID NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH INFORMATION
Russia’s defense ministry has refused to name the stealth rocket fired from a mobile missile launcher.
This launch was carried out as part of a state testing program of future missile systems and those in service, at a time when tensions were high between Russia and the West over Ukraine.
The Ministry merely shared the information that ‘The launch targets were completely completed’ without giving further details.
IT DRAW THE ATTENTION OF THE FOREIGN PRESS
The British press compared the missile in question to a ‘super weapon’. The Sun announced this development with the headline “Putin launches new nuclear-capable ballistic missile ‘super weapon’ that ‘waltzes’ through the sky to avoid detection by the West.”
Another British newspaper, Mirror, commented, “Putin has a brand new super missile that can rotate in the sky and prevent NATO from being detected.”
