After Russia’s military intervention against Ukraine on February 24, a remarkable move came from the USA. The U.S. Senate has approved a bill that describes Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “war criminal”.
DEFINED AS A WAR CITIZENS
Under the leadership of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, the bill, which was brought to the Senate General Assembly with the signature of more than 20 senators, drew attention with its definition of Putin as a war criminal.
In the non-binding resolution adopted by an oral vote in the General Assembly, it was stated that the Russian army, which carried out military attacks against Ukraine on Putin’s instructions, committed war crimes and that international institutions should investigate them.
FULL SUPPORT TO THE Draft
Republican and Democrat senators, who acted together against Russia on the war in Ukraine, gave full support to the bill.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is expected to address members of Congress at a joint session at 09:00 on Wednesday morning at 16:00 local time in the USA.
