Leksand’s forward Kalle Östman has been reported to the disciplinary board after he ran into the referee in the fifth quarter-final against Frölunda, who fell over. Now he risks missing Monday’s match in the quarter-final series, which could be decisive.
With just over five minutes left in the third period, Kalle Östman skidded towards the substitution booth and then ran into the one linesman who fell to the ice.
“When he approaches the blue line, he holds up his stick with one hand and drives into the line judge from behind and puts both hands on the back of the line judge who is on the ice. This contact with the linesman could have been avoided,” says the report on the SHL’s website after the situation room reviewed the incident.
The Disciplinary Committee will take a decision on the report during Sunday.
Frölunda leads 3–2 in the best-of-seven series.
