Puck Pieterse from Amersfoort is the first Dutch woman ever

Pieterse (21) fell in the opening phase, but recovered very well. She took off in the second round and the competition never caught up with her again. Austria’s Mona Mitterwallner took silver ahead of Switzerland’s Sina Frei. Four-time world champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot from France was not involved. In August she will defend her title at the World Championships for all cycling disciplines in and around Glasgow, Scotland.
