Ice hockey legend from Lappeenranta Lalli Partinen has died on Wednesday night, May 4th.

Partinen was hospitalized due to a coronavirus infection. Partinen had the disease caused by the coronavirus for a few days, Partinen’s son Simo Partinen says.

Lalli Partinen will be buried in Ristikangas Cemetery in Lappeenranta next to his wife.

Born in Kannonkoski in August 1941, Lalli Partinen represented Saimaa Pallo and Helsinki IFK with his puck. SaiPa has frozen Partinen’s game number 3.

Partinen also acted in the Lappeenranta City Council as an authorized representative of the non-aligned Myö movement.
