Public Prosecution Service demands 3 years in prison for bank

In bank helpdesk fraud, scammers call people at home and pretend to be bank employees. They convince people that their bank account is no longer safe. Someone supposedly from the bank must urgently collect the debit card from their home and extract their PIN code from the victims. The money is then quickly withdrawn.

Other victims are asked to install software on their computer, which allows the fraudsters to remotely monitor and perform actions via the computer. You are then often asked to transfer the entire balance to a ‘safe vault account’. That is of course an account from the scammers.
