This session will take place at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre from 5-8 pm
It will be open house-style and offer a chance for community members to view the first architectural renderings, see proposed floor plans, and learn more about the collaboration with stakeholders, along with the current progress to date, stated a municipal media release.
For those unable to attend the session, all information will be available online through the Chatham-Kent Community Hub Let’s Talk page.
A new community survey is also launching July 17, running until Aug. 7 through the Let’s Talk platform.
“The feedback gathered from the survey will be combined with the feedback from specific community groups such as the library board, the museum committee, and the accessibility committee to help inform the design and features of the proposed community hub,” the release added.

The proposed hub is a multi-year project in its second phase. The first phase was completed last October when council authorized purchase of the former Sears portion of the mall. The current phase established the stakeholder engagement group and created detailed concept designs.
At the end of this phase, the project will come before council, with an updated cost estimate, for a decision on whether to continue.
If approved, the third phase would involve finalizing the designs, tendering costs, construction procurement, and pending approval, start of construction.
