Loses ID – after comments about “kokko bello” and “nubbing” • The authority: “Grossly incompetent”
The psychologist was reported by the Inspectorate for Care and Care, IVO, in January 2024. IVO believes that the psychologist acted “grossly incompetently” in his professional practice with several patients.
According to an internal review of the care provider for whom the psychologist worked, several shortcomings were discovered. IVO has also reviewed 15 of the psychologist’s patient cases, and found deficiencies in 14 of them.
Among other things, she is said to have systematically kept medical records incorrectly, failed to make suicide risk assessments, made serious diagnoses without investigation and had contact with patients outside the treatment platform.
Called patient’s ex a “witch”
The conversations with the patients, which took place via chat or video, have also been of a private nature, according to IVO’s assessment.
In one case, she and a patient allegedly chatted about the patient’s dating life. In chat transcripts, the psychologist allegedly called the patient’s ex-partner a “witch”. Before a date that the patient was going on, the psychologist wrote that the patient would get “nuppa”, and that she hoped that the date would not be a “mental case”.
In another case, she called a patient’s parent a “narcissist” and “kokko bello”, which caused the patient to react negatively and protest.
The psychologist is said to have also urged a patient to move out of his cohabitant, and shared his own private life and state of health.
The responsibility committee: “Grossly incompetent”
In the decision from the Health and Medical Service’s responsibility board, it is stated that they agree with IVO’s assessment that the psychologist acted “grossly incompetently”, and that her identification should therefore be revoked.
The psychologist herself has said that she wants the accountability board to give her a warning and future educational efforts to address her shortcomings, instead of revoking her license. In the cases of the inaccurate records, she admits to shortcomings, and says she intends to learn and correct them.
