Where to find a PS5 in store?
If you are unable to buy a Playstation 5 console on the web, know that it is always possible to find one in the store. Sony’s console sometimes appears at French retailers, such as Fnac and Micromania recently, in the form of official Sony packs. Since the release of the Horizon Forbidden West PS5 bundle, copies of the console have appeared in stores. More discreet restocking than those on e-commerce sites, and therefore sometimes possible to find provided you show a little luck. Recently, it was at Fnac that we got wind of the stocks present in the store.
In addition to the traditional high-tech sellers where you can occasionally find Playstation 5 restocks, there is another seller who organizes monthly list sales. This is Sony, which is trying to stem the supply problems of its latest console. The Japanese manufacturer has set up a waiting list system, and regularly organizes private sales for some of those registered on these lists. To participate, you will need to have an account. PlayStation Network and register on the list presented in the link above. You will then have to wait for an email from Sony to invite you to the private sale, the date of which we will inform you of in this article.
Where to buy a used PS5?
Also note that it is always possible to find Playstation 5 for resale. The lucky few who have had the opportunity to get their hands on the console have fully understood its real value on the market, and do not hesitate to resell it at a price higher than its base price. You will find offers of this type on the site of Rakuten. The French retailer offers consoles at relatively reasonable prices, count all the same around 650 to 750 € for a digital version (against 399.99 € in store). A purchase that therefore remains reserved for the most motivated customers, and offers to watch out for.
Why is the Playstation 5 out of stock?
It’s a question that deserves an answer. Why have we gone in a few years from a completely normal market to a console that has become a rare bird? The answers are multiple, and begin in 2020 with the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Microchip and semiconductor metal factories in Southeast Asia have been hit hard by health restrictions, and are only now beginning to return to a normal production rate. Add to that the recent political tensions between Russia, China, and the Western world, and you’ve got a less than ideal situation for console vendors.
PS5 out of stock, it’s until when?
Now that we have put our finger on the origin of the state of the home console market, we can only ask ourselves the following question: the end of stockouts, when? Well the answer is no less grim than the state of the market. While it was announced a few months ago that 2023 would be the year of salvation for the Playstation 5, the war in Ukraine has strongly pushed back these estimates. Pat Gelsinger, CEO of Intel, has announced that his company does not expect a return to normal before 2024. An announcement that concerns home consoles, but also the automotive and graphics card market.
