Sony’s Advanced Console PS5 Pro Will Be Released Soon

The VergeAccording to , the leaked information provides detailed information about the features of Sony’s PS5 Pro. Developers are asked to adapt to the new console and focus specifically on improving ray tracing. PS5 Pro, called “TrinityWith a model designated as “, it will feature a faster CPU and a powerful GPU, allowing the console to render games that support ray tracing at a higher resolution and frame rate.

While Sony upgrades the GPU of the PS5 Pro, it will introduce a new mode that will increase the clock speed of the CPU. According to the information sent to developers, this mode will have a CPU frequency approximately 10% faster than the current PS5 model. New high CPU frequency modewill provide more power than in standard mode, causing the GPU to lose some speed. However, this is expected to result in only approximately a 1% decrease in performance.

PS5 Pro, will also make significant improvements to system memory. It will increase the memory speed by 28%, to 576GB/s, making the memory system more efficient. By taking advantage of this increased memory access, developers will be able to use 1.2GB more system memory compared to the base PS5 model.

Sony’s newly developed PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) support will be offered as an alternative to AMD’s FSR or Nvidia’s DLSS technologies. This new system is designed to increase the frame rates and image quality of games and includes a proprietary machine learning architecture that will enable 300TOPS 8-bit processing on the PS5 Pro. PSSR aims to replace existing temporal anti-aliasing and upsampling implementations and offers full HDR support. Sony plans to support resolution up to 8K and further reduce latency with future updates.
