A journalist from the CNet media outlet has already been able to get his hands on Sony’s new console and deliver a first test of its performance.
If your dream is to be able to try the new PS5 Pro, a journalist has already made it happen for you. In the United States, the media CNet received an exclusive invitation to try out the new console from Sony in preview. Even before the official announcement of the machine, journalist Scott Stein was able to spend several hours with the PS5 Pro to deliver his first impressions.
In his exclusive hands-on, the journalist explains that he was able to spend several hours testing different titles on PS5 Pro. Among the games mentioned, Scott Stein was able to try the simulations F1 2024 and Gran Turismo 7, the adventure games Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet and Clank as well as the RPG Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth that we were able to test when it was released.
Scott Stein says that his PS5 Pro test on F1 2024 allowed him to observe a better rendering of the Ray Tracing technology during rainy car races. The graphics were much more photorealistic than on the classic PS5 and this was particularly noticeable with the rain falling on the car in the game.
But the CNet journalist mainly mentions his Gran Turismo demo to praise the merits of the PS5 Pro. In his exclusive test, Scott Stein specifies: “Gran Turismo 7 was probably my most impressive demo since it added two more improvements: 8K gameplay and a large 80-inch screen (…) I was so absorbed in the rendering of the cars that I ended up crashing mine.”
However, the journalist is well aware of the exorbitant price of the PS5 Pro (displayed at 799.99 euros in France). Scott Stein therefore indicates that this new version is not aimed at all gamers, but at those who have a large compatible configuration to go with the console. The journalist also thinks that the PS5 Pro is not particularly interesting for PS5 owners, but could be acquired by new users.
