Although it has already sold over 12 million copies in just 15 days on PS5 and Xbox Series, Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy was supposed to arrive on old gen consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) on April 4, a two-month lag. But we will have to be patient, since the game has just been postponed for several weeks, May 5, 2023 to be precise, as the tweet from the development studio tells us. The teams indeed need additional time to refine these versions as they should, and given the fairly gigantic size of the open world, we imagine that optimization must require great effort. We remember that on PS5 and Xbox Series, the game was already subject to many frame-rate drops, but also victims of many bugs that must also be corrected for these less powerful versions. We hope that the result will nevertheless be of quality.
We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for the response to Hogwarts Legacy from fans around the globe. The team is working hard to deliver the best possible experience on all platforms and we need more time to do this.
