Sony promises that “a very compelling series of games” will come out with the new PS VR2 and talks about its work.
So far, the list of games that will be released for Sony’s new VR set is quite short. It is also unknown which of the games will be ready to play at the launch of PS VR2. PlayStation itself has announced that it is currently only developing Horizon: Call of the Mountain and is relying on partners for other games.
Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s CEO Jim Ryan, while explaining to Sony investors what areas he is spending, also indirectly made statements that will relieve those who are waiting for PS VR2.
Playstation VR2 will have a very attractive series of games with its output
Jim Ryan stated that they are working very closely with all partners to offer a large game library at the launch of PS VR2. Therefore, he also stated that there will be no less than 20 productions consisting of first and third-class games, after these words: “We are currently spending a significant amount of money on our independent and third-class partnerships so that we can support the release of PS VR2 with a large game reservoir.”
PlayStation London Studio, which has recently come to the fore with a new IP leak and is known for developing VR games, may also be a studio that develops games in this sense. It is a matter of curiosity how PS VR2, which is intended to be released in the spring of 2023, will bring so many productions in such a short time. There are not many games announced so far, and they are mostly adaptations of games released for Meta Quest 2.
Sony is expected to hold a special presentation to introduce the games and especially the software before the PS VR2’s release. Current circumstances indicate that this presentation will not happen before September.
