(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Prysmiana company listed on Euronext Milan and active in the sector of cable systems for energy and telecommunications, was selected as one of the preferred bidders for the Biscay Gulf interconnection. The announcement comes after the announcement made by INELFE – a 50:50 joint venture between Spanish grid operator Red Eléctrica and French grid operator Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE).
The Biscay Gulf project will be the first submarine interconnection between Spain (Gatika) and France (Cubnezais)with two connections that will increase the energy exchange capacity between countries and also with the rest of Europe by 2 GW, improving the security, stability and quality of the electricity supply.
