Provincial appeal about climate goals does not go down well

On the other side of the province, in Vijfheerenlanden, it is clear that at least three wind turbines will be built. “You can never please everyone”, says alderman John van der Veld of VHL Lokaal, for whom the appeal from the province did not come as a surprise. “But you can involve the residents as much as possible in the process.” A “participative value evaluation” will therefore be organized after the summer holidays, in which a number is linked to the value judgment of the residents. “Ultimately, we will look at which locations score best for people, nature and animals so that the council can make a careful decision.”
