The photos show the mother wolf holding her cub in her mouth. The photos were taken by hobby photographer Claudia van Wezel and her sister-in-law Natasja Koet, who were walking together in the Leusden forest on 31 May. “You start to doubt, I wanted to be a hundred percent sure.” That is why she shared the photos in a nature group on Facebook. Then her Facebook “exploded”, says Van Wezel. “I was called by all the wildlife management agencies, they called it a unique sighting. To prevent unrest and disruption, we were asked to remove the photos.”
