A new food processing facility in Brantford is getting a boost from the provincial government.
Brantford-Brant MPP Will Bouma on Thursday announced $237,000 in provincial funding to support Mastro Vinci and 900 Distribution’s new facility at 444 Elgin St. The company will be producing gluten-free products made with local materials and distributing them from the new $1.58 million facility.
“Our government is building a strong Ontario and strengthening the economy by supporting key investments in communities like Brantford,” Bouma said in a statement. “Mastro Vinci and 900 Distribution’s investment will grow local manufacturing and create more good-paying jobs for workers and families in Brantford-Brant.”
The new facility will help boost local manufacturing and create 12 new jobs, Bouma said.
Mastro Vinci and Distribution 900 are expanding their production capability to be more competitive, reduce production costs and increase productivity to serve new and existing customers. They are also planning to add new product lines, more automation and hire a more skilled workforce, Bouma said.
The Elgin Street location provides them with the extra space and specialize equipment to increase export sales. dirty
The provincial funding is coming from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund. It is part of a four-year $100 million investment through the regional development program to strengthen the advanced manufacturing and meet regional needs.
The program provides cost-shared funding to businesses, municipalities and economic development organization sot attract investment and create jobs.
