Province of Bolzano from CDP 150 million for the completion

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – The Autonomous Province of Bolzano will receive 150 million euros from Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP)with the resources that the institution will need to carry out a capital increase of Infranet, the investee company that deals with the management, planning and maintenance of the digital infrastructure throughout the South Tyrolean territory. The funds will allow the fiber optic network to catch up almost 80,000 new real estate units.

In addition, the resources will enable the company to make the necessary investments a continue with the design and construction of the ultra-broadband networkwith the aim of reaching around 120,000 real estate units by 2026 – to date, there are around 41,000 properties served – and thus offer all telephone operators access to a modern fiber optic network.

The goal of network improvement is guarantee citizens and businesses the use of innovative digitally enabled servicessuch as: telemedicine, advanced Public Administration services, smart working, the Internet of Things, online streaming of HD content, intelligent applications for smart cities such as sustainable mobility (e-mobility and sharing mobility), electronic access control, environmental monitoring and public lighting management.

Already last year CDP had granted a credit line from 40 million eurosalso intended for strengthening the ultra-broadband network.
