Women protesting Padilla’s murder gathered in front of the Zapopan Police Department.

Prosecutor Luis Joaquín Méndez stated that, according to the testimony of witnesses, three men and a woman attacked Padilla, after which they fled.

Padilla, who has an 11-year-old autistic son, was also a member of the “Yo cuido México” (I Protect Mexico) group, where families with disabilities support each other.

The group reported that Padilla was threatened many times by a neighbor who said he was disturbed by his son’s voices.

Padilla was drawn to the building where he lived in May and “I will burn you alive” He shared the graffiti on his Twitter account.

Padilla also tweeted, “How much longer do I have to live in fear that something will happen to me or my family? On the other hand, the person who threatens to harm is walking freely around the city with the potential to do more harm.” he said.

COMPLAINED THE NEIGHBOR TOO MANY TIMES

The prosecution also confirmed that Padilla had repeatedly complained to a neighbor who threatened to cause harm.

Prosecutor Méndez stated that the neighbor in question came to the police station voluntarily, but they did not have enough evidence to accuse the neighbor.

However, Méndez noted that a witness confirmed that this neighbor was among the four people who harmed Padilla.

According to local media, the young woman had also suffered domestic violence by her previous partner.

The women who protested the killing of Padilla and spoke to AFP, on the other hand, stated that justice should be established and demanded that society’s tolerance towards different segments of society should increase.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador pointed to the previous administrations and said that this murder was committed because of “the loss of values brought to an end by neoliberal policies”.

It was announced that Padilla’s son was taken care of by his grandmother and aunt.
