Protesters in Armenia held demonstrations demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Opposition lawmakers left the parliament, increasing the pressure on Prime Minister Pashinyan.
Protesters, after erecting barricades on the main streets in the capital Yerevan, held a demonstration in front of the Parliament while Pashinyan was making a speech and expressed their dissatisfaction with the Prime Minister.
In the video footage taken during the demonstration, the protesters waving Armenian flags in their hands, “Armenia without Nikol!” and they were seen shouting slogans such as “Get out”.
Opposition deputies left the Parliament while Pashinyan was giving an impassioned speech. While his supporters applauded him, Pashinyan shouted to the opposition deputies leaving the Parliament, “You are running as always.”
Pashinyan came under heavy criticism after Armenia was defeated by Azerbaijan in the six-week war in 2020 and lost territory in and around the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Noting that he was forced to accept the peace agreement under the auspices of Russia in order not to cause further loss of life and land, Pashinyan faced a wave of protests.
