Late letters, missing packages and a growing dissatisfaction among the Swedish people. What is actually happening with Postnord?

Postnord’s stormy years
There has been quite a storm around Postnord during Annemarie Gardshols time as CEO of the company.
In the summer of 2022, the Swedish Post and Telecommunications Board began an investigation of Postnord after extensive complaints that the letters did not arrive on time, or even disappeared.
In the same vein, more postmen whistled about misconduct at work in the media, and were subsequently threatened with dismissal. One of them was Emilywhich you can read more about here:

In 2023, Postnord also failed to deliver the letters according to the requirements, and in step with that, dissatisfaction with the company has grown. In 2015, every second Swede had confidence in “Posten”, but today the figure is down to 19 percent. It is the lowest figure since 2020.

During the criticized years, Postnord’s president and CEO Annemarie Gardshol raised her salary considerably.
In 2021, she increased her income by 21 percent to SEK 708,333. The following year, the salary increase was 19 percent and the monthly salary then landed at just over SEK 842,000.
In the same year, the postmen received only a 2.7 percent pay rise with the explanation that the money was not enough. The average salary was then SEK 26,000.
In 2023, Annemarie Gardshol brought in SEK 11,228,000 in salary alone, which gives a monthly salary of SEK 935,000. Only Vattenfall’s CEO Anna Borg earned more than the state managers.
The salary together with pension and other benefits gave a total compensation of SEK 14,496, according to Postnord’s remuneration report for 2023which Nyheter24 learned about.
Ylva Ekbornwho took over as acting CEO of Postnord Sweden in December 2023, earned SEK 3,430,000 in salary the same year, and received, with other benefits and pension, a total compensation of SEK 4,591,000.

The salary development has angered the postmen. The appeal “Postnord: Yes to more postmen, no to extremely high executive salaries!” was started in December 2022.
The appeal is addressed to Annemarie Gardshol and Ylva Ekborn and this is how the postmen write:
“Now we tell postmen to stop. As top management, Gardshol is ultimately responsible for us at Postnord fulfilling our social mission. How does she justify her salary while there are no resources to deliver the mail on time?
Therefore, we require:
Stop the cuts
More postmen (stop alerting us!)
Stop extremely high executive salaries”
On April 22, representatives of the appeal submitted a petition with 35,000 signatures on a giant postcard to Annemarie Gardshol.

In an earlier interview with Nyheter24 gave Sandra Swedishchairman Seko Posten, his view on Posntord’s CEO’s salary.
– Annemarie has a crazy high salary and I understand that it sticks in the eyes of our members. There are huge differences when compared to what a postman, driver or terminal worker has, she said at the time.
Here, Postnord refuses to deliver letters
Nyheter24 has on several occasions sought Annemarie Gardshol and the person in charge at Postnord for an interview, but they have declined to participate due to “time and availability”.
