Last year, the government shrunk the environmental budget considerably and, among other things, reduced the allocations for the protection of valuable nature.
Now Climate and Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari (L) in SR Ekot announces that the government will increase the allocations in the upcoming budget to protect valuable nature.
In total, it is SEK 500 million per year for three years.
– Now we are making sure that the money is there, 500 million over the next three years, to be able to protect the biological diversity in the areas of forest we have with extra protection-worthy nature, she tells SR.
It also includes more money for protection against invasive species, which the government has already announced.
According to Pourmokhtari, the money should, among other things, be taken from the scrapped bonus on electric cars.
