ProSieben shortens Heidi Klums statement from the new Germanys Next

It was a premiere in 17 years of Germany’s next top model history: In the first episode of the new season, Heidi Klum had a comprehensive break for the first time on Thursday growing criticism of the show voiced. Klum spoke for almost 10 minutes about allegations that have been made public against her and the show in recent months. Among other things, an article by Moviepilot about statements made by a former participant was also displayed.

But this surprising positioning of Klum could only be seen by those who watched the show live on TV.

ProSieben cuts Heidi Klum’s statement from the show

In February, Der Spiegel magazine provided an insight into the contracts of prospective model candidates for the first time. In the article, a lawyer spoke of “lock-up contracts” that are unusual in the industry. Ex-participants themselves had also commented on the shooting for the show several times in the past. Challenges are said to have been manipulated and falls during catwalk shoots were deliberately provoked.

Heidi Klum denies this in her statement. “Of course it is not in my interest for a model to get injured on my show”, according to the model. In addition, everything shown on the show is real.

This can no longer be understood in detail. After the linear broadcast on TV, the episode ended up in the Joyn media library as usual. However, Heidi Klum’s speech is missing here.

How did the decision come about? And is it planned to publish Heidi Klum’s statements about the GNTM debate separately? Moviepilot asked ProSieben.

What ProSieben says about the 10 missing minutes of the Germany’s Next Topmodel episode

The broadcaster reacted quickly – and curtly. ProSieben spokesman Christoph Körfer was quoted as saying in an email to Moviepilot:

Some things don’t repeat themselves in life. And for others, 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben is the best time.

One can only speculate about the motives. However, it does not seem unlikely that Heidi Klum’s statement will still draw larger (online) circles. After all, you can rely on the meme community. And the ex-candidates who publicly criticized their former mentor should also have something to say about these 10 minutes of GNTM history.
