It was the end of an institution: A few months ago, ProSieben swapped its Sunday blockbusters for show formats. The reason was streaming competition and new viewer requests. That could now change again. Namely because of James Bond.
ProSieben grabs RTL James Bond rights
According to DWDL, the Seven. One Entertainment Group, to which ProSiebenSat.1 also belongs, secured the rights to all 25 James Bond films. James Bond 007 – No Time to Die or classics like James Bond 007 – Feuerball will soon be running prime time on ProSieben. And no day would be better suited for this than Sunday.
The rights to the film series were previously owned by the RTL Group, which sent the British agent on a mission, particularly in the evening programs on Vox and Nitro. The deal between Seven. One and the bond distributor MGM is not just limited to 007.
Thanks to the deal, users of the ProSiebenSat.1 streaming service Joyn can look forward to a significantly expanded range. MGM movies like Terminator or the Rocky series will soon be in the range there. However, it is not yet known when exactly the deal will take effect.
