ProSieben postpones comedy finale at short notice for highly explosive

Throughout the season, fans of the How I Met Your Mother series How I Met Your Father have been looking forward to the four-episode finale, which was actually supposed to take place on March 6, 2023 on ProSieben. Instead, the broadcaster has its primetime slot at 8:15 p.m. for the ProSieben Thema documentary. Poisonous. Cleared indestructible. It’s about a group of incredibly common chemicals that potentially carcinogenic and fatal.

In the documentary, journalist Thilo Mischke looks at a range of chemicals called PFAS (per- and polyfluorinated alkyl compounds). These are substances that are water, grease and dirt-repellent as well as chemically and thermally stable. Due to these properties, they are often used in the manufacture of cosmetics and textiles. But they can be extremely dangerous.

The PFAS is a chemical that can cause cancer, strokes and genetic defects, quotes DWDL Mischke. He refers to her as “underestimated danger that is criminally disregarded [und] is now reflected in the blood of almost everyone[findet].” Since the substances are extremely stable in the environment, they are also called “eternity chemicals” or “century poisons“. According to the BMUV, the PFAS include more than 10,000 individual substances.
