ProSieben is bringing back one of the best Raab shows

For six years, the show was part of the regular program when a major football tournament took place. In 2008, Stefan Raab invented the Autoball European Championship and World Championship. After TV total, the high diving (on RTL) and the Wok World Cup, ProSieben is now relaunching this bizarre sports event.

When will Stefan Raab’s Autoball World Cup return?

The reason for the revival is the controversial World Cup 2022 in Qatar, which launches on November 20th. TV total presenter Sebastian Pufpaff announced the news on his show yesterday. As reported by DWDL, the Autoball World Cup is to be held on December 16, 2022 climb. This is the Friday before the World Cup final, when no game of the tournament will be played. So the attention is fully focused on the car counterpart.

The Autoball World Championship returns and that is only logical

The Raab competition was last held before the 2014 World Cup, which Germany won (a good omen?) The show has been dormant since Raab’s retirement in 2015 and that was particularly unfortunate in this case. Because unlike many other shows of this type, Autoball offered real excitement and not just a joke.

Bobsleigh pros like Georg Hackl dominated the wok, athletes like Fabian Hambüchen dominated the high diving. The outcome of the competition was more or less set. It’s different with Autoball. The concept envisages using a small car to maneuver a small child-sized ball into the opponent’s goal. This mode has no equivalent in professional sports. Being able to handle a car well certainly helps, but it is by no means everything.

This made the Autoball World Cup one of the absolute highlights among the Raab inventions, although it is not particularly environmentally friendly. And since the show only ran 4 times (2008, 2010, 2012, 2014), its concept never wore out either.

TV total presenter Sebastian Pufpaff will represent Germany at the tournament. The other participants are not yet known. All of this will take place in the ZAG Arena in Hanover.
