A man in Helsingborg who shot his wife to death was initially charged with murder, but information that emerged during the trial caused the prosecutor to change his mind. Now she demands instead that he be sentenced to eight years in prison for murder, reports SVT Nyheter Helsingborg.
– Her wish was that someone else would do this for her, says prosecutor Carolina Diaz Bernal to SVT about the woman who was killed.
The prosecutor refers, among other things, to information from the healthcare system and from relatives, which caused her to change her mind. The woman had also expressed wishes about how, where and when it should be done.
Defense lawyer Pontus Peyron believes that the punishment value is significantly lower than eight years due to the special circumstances.
The woman was found dead in her home in a town in northwestern Scania in January.
