Prosecutor wants to re indict Alec Baldwin for wrongful death

According to the prosecutor, there were no grounds for dismissing the case.

In New Mexico, USA, the prosecutor has asked the local judge to reconsider the decision to dismiss the actor Alec Baldwin the charges of manslaughter brought against him.

Judge of Santa Fe Mary Marlowe Sommer decided to drop the lawsuit against Baldwin in July after finding that state prosecutors had withheld key evidence from the actor’s defense. The decision was based on a bullet delivered to the authorities in connection with the case, the existence of which the police and the prosecutor did not tell Baldwin’s lawyers.

Prosecutor Kari Morrissey is of the opinion that there were insufficient grounds for dismissing the charge. According to him, the projectile, which was not reported to the defense, was not relevant to the case.

Cameraman Halyna Hutchins died on the set of the movie Rust three years ago while Baldwin was rehearsing a scene with a handgun that was supposed to have explosive charges. There was a real bullet in the gun. The gun went off, killing Hutchins and wounding the film’s director Joel Souza. According to Baldwin, he pulled the gun’s hammer but did not pull the trigger.

Gunslinger of the movie Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was sentenced earlier this year to 18 months in prison for manslaughter.
