A well-known Swedish rapper from Stockholm with connections to the Hagsätra network is now requested to be detained on probable cause on suspicion of abuse in a court case and the new law on involving a minor in crime.
The rapper, who is now 19 years old, is already known to the police. Prosecutors have filed a request to remand the rapper after he was arrested after instructing several youths to commit a crime when police were on the rapper’s surveillance. According to the prosecutor, he is requested to be detained because there is a risk that the rapper will try to remove evidence and that he will continue his criminal activities, the detention protocol states.
Involvement of a minor in delinquency
The new law, which entered into force on July 1, 2023, has created a lot of attention and debate within the Swedish legal system as several legal experts believe that there are too many question marks about how the new law should be interpreted and proven in a court. The purpose of the law has been, according to the drafting of the law, to strengthen the protection of young individuals and prevent them from being exploited and drawn into criminal acts. The detained rapper is only the second person to be requested to be detained for the crime after the new law became law on July 1 of this year.
Supposed to have been arrested in the open square
The rapper was arrested on July 18 at Rågsvedstorget and the crime must have been caught on film according to sources for SVT news. He was arrested on the spot and the arrest reportedly went smoothly. The rapper has previously been convicted of several serious violent crimes such as assault and illegal threats.
– We had been watching him for a long time, it was just a coincidence that we were able to arrest him right after the crime was committed, says a source with insight into the arrest.
Has more than 23 million streams on Spotify
In an interview with P3, the rapper says that he has been making music since 2017. There he talks about the success on TikTok and how the song spread to the US.
