Promising information about Mikko Rantanens recovery he was already

According to Colorado’s head coach, Rantanen’s situation is being evaluated one day at a time.

The target of a hard tackle Mikko Rantanen is sidelined from the NHL arena for the time being. The Finnish star will miss at least the top match against Dallas the night before Monday.

Colorado head coach Jared Bednar however, he told the media promising information on Sunday: Rantanen was able to practice on Saturday and went to the ice alone on Sunday morning.

– He is in the concussion protocol. I would say his situation is being evaluated day by day. However, he has already been on the ice, Bednar said.

Rantanen had to leave Colorado in the middle of the previous struggle, when Edmonton’s Swedish pack Mattias Ekholm wheeled him near the edge of the rink.

Rantanen’s injury happened at almost the worst possible time for Colorado, as the playoffs are already at the door. There are only five rounds left in the regular season and Colorado is chasing Dallas, who leads the central division by three points.
