Lotta Kemppinen rushed to the Finnish record in the 60-meter hall race in Belgrade. Sara Kuivisto, on the other hand, reached the final race at 1,500 meters on Saturday. Kristian Pulli was 11th in the length final.
Lotta Kemppinen was in the Fifth semifinal of the 60-meter Belgrade Hall Championships and thus did not make it to the final of the evening. Kemppinen pinched a time of 7.18, which left him only two hundredths of his Finnish record a year ago.
The final spot was 0.04 seconds away.
– I think it was a successful run, there were no bigger mistakes. I am really happy that my own level has risen there and I can run in almost any run below 7.20, Kemppinen was happy for Sport.
According to Kemppinen, his level has progressed wildly during the reign. Last season in Jyväskylä, the SE time of 7.16 was a button run, but this season he has been harassed several times at the same time.
According to Kemppinen, however, he has not focused on 60 meters in practice.
– We have always wanted a hundred to be hard in the summer. It shows at 60 meters that the end always comes really well.
Kemppinen’s main goal in the summer is, of course, the World Championships and European Championships.
– The hall season has been really good. I am glad that the basic level is so hard. It promises a really good summer.
Kuivisto pinched the World Cup final
Sara Kuivisto ran third in the 1500m in the first round of the day. Kuivisto ran 4.08.05, while his Finnish record in February is 4.06.14.
Ethiopia Gudaf Tsegay dominated the lot and won with a time of 4.06.71.
– I took a good place to start and was able to fold the trip in peace. It wasn’t quite the best course, but it went well against it. I think there will be a better mood tomorrow, Kuivisto comments.
Kuivisto will run in the final of the 1500 meters on Saturday night at 21.35.
Bull out of the final rounds
Kristian Pulli did not reach the top eight in the men’s long jump finals. The bull was 11th and was eliminated from the last three rounds.
For Rull, the race was the first of the hall season, and his first two jumps were overwhelmed. Bull’s third jump carried 776, leaving him 11 cents away from the final.
– Yes, it was time for the notebook this time. There was little attempt in the second jump, but it went over a few cents. I didn’t get the best charge for the third jump. It was weak and the result was nothing, Pulli commented to Urheilu.
Pulli, who won the European Championship bronze medal with SE jump 824 last season, says that the hall season was not one of his main goals this season. However, he decided to go to Belgrade because the condition felt good.
– Last season went well, but the summer went below expectations. We thought we were going to put summer ahead now, Pulli says.
Pulli says he will bet on the summer World Cup and European Championships, where he will leave with a medal in mind.
– This was a small snack. I got more annoyed to myself when these races went so poorly. It is hoped that it will give a suitable kick to the exercises.
– For the summer, I only want to get medals. The prize final no longer seems miraculous. Medals are the ones that mark in sports and I go to pick them up, Pulli says.
