Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Head of Pediatric Infectious Diseases Department Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ceyhan made evaluations in Haber Global regarding the suspicion of adenovirus in mysterious hepatitis:
“After the coronavirus pandemic, these are events that trigger each other. Here, frankly, the number of cases is 190 worldwide. The number of cases is probably much higher than this number. When you look at Turkey, we see such cases in Turkey as well. When this table came out, I looked at our records, there are 2 reasons. “There was an unknown hepatitis case that was severe enough to be hospitalized, but we have not been able to screen for adenovirus in the hepatitis of a healthy child until now. There was no adenovirus among the causes. Because it is very rare.”
ADENAVIRUS SYMPTOMS
Explaining the symptoms, Ceyhan said, “If there is fever, vomiting, diarrhea, hoarseness, runny nose, and redness in the eyes, you should go to a big health center without wasting any time. It is necessary to go to a health center that can take care of adenovirus.” he warned.
