Many batches of salads in plastic trays are the subject of a product recall. In question, the presence of a potentially dangerous substance for the body. Explanations.
Be careful if you have just bought lettuce from LECLERC, SYSTEME U or INTERMARCHE. Marketed between 06/19/2023 and 06/28/2023, several batches of lamb’s lettuce have been removed from the shelves. According to the government site Rappel Conso, propyzamide – a herbicide used in agriculture – has been detected in these products. As a precaution, it is therefore strongly recommended not to consume these salads. Doctissimo takes stock of the offending batches.

Additional information: The products listed were packaged by our company from 06/19/2023 to 06/21/2023 which is different from the end date of sale on the shelves;
What if I own one of these bundles?
Still according to Rappel Conso, “an unapproved active ingredient (Propyzamide)” was detected in these salads. According to ANSES, propyzamide is a herbicide (a weedkiller) authorized in France, since 07/01/2018 and until 06/30/2025. Used to kill weeds in wheat fields, in vineyards or in fruit and vegetable crops, this product is however classified as “likely to cause cancer”. It is also considered very toxic to aquatic organisms. Moreover, according to the results of a study published in the journal Nature, propyzamide increases inflammation in the small and large intestines.
In addition, Rappel Cono warns that other unauthorized phytosanitary products may also be present. Therefore, for your health, do not eat these salads.
