Mackerel fillets sold throughout France are currently recalled due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Discover the affected lots.
Be wary if you bought vacuum-packed fish, after the recalls of haddock and smoked herring, several batches of pepper mackerel – Provençal mackerel fillets from the Bourgain et fils and Grand Frais brand are today recalled due to Listeria monocytogenes detected .

What’s wrong with these products?
These fish are possibly contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the agent responsible for listeriosis, a disease which can be serious and has an incubation period of up to eight weeks.
According to the Rappel Conso website, “People who have consumed this product mentioned above and who present with fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, and body aches, are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption. Serious forms with neurological complications and maternal or fetal damage in pregnant women can also sometimes occur. Pregnant women as well as immunocompromised people and the elderly should be particularly attentive to these symptoms.
What to do with these fish?
It is recommended not to consume these products, and to return them to the point of sale for a refund.
